Remember, “the wand chooses the wizard”. Thomas with his charmed fez assists two visitors to Whimsic Alley with their selection. Do you have a cool wand selection story to share? Feel free to share it at our mirrored facebook post: http://www.facebook.com/whimsicalley

Hello Muggles and Magics,
We at Whimsic Alley share one important trait with all of you: We are also fans. We love Harry Potter. We love The Hunger Games. We love Dr. Who. We love dragons, magic, space, time travel, wizards, elves, far-away lands…all of it! We work at Whimsic Alley because we’re part of the community. We get it.
Because of this, we thought it would be cool to give you a peek at some of the staff and what makes them the perfect Whimsic employee. Feel free to give them a shout, especially if you’re at the store.

Our first highlighted employee is Thomas. You might have seen him at Ascendio (if you have any incriminating videos/pics: PLEASE POST THEM!) or you might remember him from Whimsic Alley’s Hunger Games premiere event (he was dressed as someone from the Capital). Here’s a brief interview giving you special insight into why Thomas is one of the chosen few to be a part of the Whimsic Alley family!
How did you come to work at Whimsic Alley?
Well, I actually used to order from Whimsic Alley when living in Boston, Mass. A few years later, I moved to Los Angeles to finish University and I needed a job. I didn’t get hired right away. I actually had to jump through some hoops first (the boss, Stan, doesn’t just take anyone off the street…you really have to be a fan). Being a fan of Harry Potter for over half my life helped out quite a bit, though.
What is your favorite part about working at Whimsic Alley?
Oh man, it has to be the fans. Harry Potter has some amazing and dedicated fans and being able to meet them on a daily basis is the best part of the job. Yeah, I may work in one of the closest things you get to being a wizard in the world of Harry Potter (which I won’t deny is awesome!), but being able to nerd out with other fans is way more enjoyable. I mean, it’s like you automatically have something to talk about with the majority of the people who come in.
What is your favorite “kind” of customer?
The customers that come and join us for our experiences that we throw, the type of people who attended Whimsic Alley Adult Camp: The Camp That Lived, our Warthogs Academy: Youth Camp or the people who come to our Pop-Up Shops at Ascendio or Leaky Con. Even the people who come back again or again, or for the first time and get lost in the enjoyment of being here.
What draws you to the Harry Potter series?
Everything, I think the lessons that can be learned from the pages are very important, but this book series has been with me for almost half my life. The characters are like family and Hogwarts is like a second home to escape into. J.K. Rowling really put it better than I could ever articulate, “Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.” That will always stick with me and draw me back, reliving my favorite memories from the series for the rest of my life.
What else (after Harry) are you a huge fan of and why?
Doctor Who is my second big fandom, it just captures that whimsy, fantasy, and that wibbly wobbly timey wimey, that just makes me happy. I know deep down that The Doctor will always be there for us. I am also into Sherlock; it’s some of the best storytelling this century. There really are just too many to list.
Note from the Editor: You may photo reply should you have an image of Thomas!

GUYS I’M SELLING STUFF AT THIS AGAIN
Be sure if you are selling here to invite your friends list to the event. Since Whimsic Alley’s facebook page is a business we technically do not have ‘friends’ only ‘likes’ so after you RSVP you can click ‘invite friends’ to help spread the word more! We want to make this the biggest outcome yet!
